2009 PFFUI Convention Summary The 33rd annual convention of the PFFUI was held in Evansville May 13-15, 2009. A total of 120 delegates and 24 alternates representing 42 of our 62 Locals attended, with an additional 3 Locals represented by proxies. The PFFUI Executive Board, IAFF 8th District Vice-President and PFFUI President Emeritus Thomas Miller, Secretary-Treasurer Emeritus Richard Kissel, IAFF General President Harold Schaitberger, and numerous other guests participated for a well attended and successful convention. The Professional Fire Fighters Union of Indiana was established in 1934 and currently represents approximately 6,200 active and 1,100 retired professional Fire Fighters in 63 Local Unions in communities throughout Indiana. Our work is guided by our belief in the right of all members of the PFFUI to participate in decisions which affect them, to work in a safe and healthy environment, and to be treated with dignity and respect.
